Pink Ribbon Walk 2024 - Auckland

I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walks for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

That’s why I’m taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk this year, to help change that.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.

Along side the Pink Ribbon walk I’m also training for the Kerikeri half marathon, which supports those in Northland dealing with the BIG C!! Super proud to be part of both activities and helping others through their journey…together we can make healing during cancer a better experience xx Getting back to where I was fitness wise before BC is harder than I expected but I’m getting out there guys and keeping moving 🏃‍♀️

Thursday 15th Aug
Been busy out there getting moving again, HIIT, Pilates and doing some running or should I say jog/walk…10km yesterday. Frustration is real as such a long road back to where I was before this all started! Got to remember I’m still under treatment so hooked up for infusions on Thursday last week and doing 10km nearly a week later is pretty massive…Pilates tonight to stretch it all out. Have a great day team and huge thanks for the support xx

Awesome!! Thanks so much for your support and donations, I may of reached my target but let’s keep going…. Every $$ helps someone have a better journey through this xx The resources, support, care packages, funding for physio and counselling is so valuable for those who are dealing with BC!! 
I’m out looking after me today, a morning HIIT session and tonight some good Pilates. Loving life x

My Story

Thursday 18th Jul
I’m doing this to help other women who weren’t as lucky as me….all my treatment has been fully funded but some aren’t so fortunate 😢
Diagnosed late October 23 only 10mths from last mammogram! No it wasn’t missed - just bloody fast growing!! Stage 3, grade 3, triple positive BC involving lymph nodes. Infusion port inserted on 8th November (my birthday) and chemo started the next day. Chemo is a bitch but so grateful for it and it’s saved my life! Hard days but it was never going to beat me, 27th March double mastectomy with 20 nodes removed and immediate recon. Surgery results came back with no cancer residue - from stage 3 to the best result possible! Now in recovery, rehab and years of medication to hopefully keep it away! 
I’m so grateful to everyone that has been there for me, from family, friends and North Shore hospital staff, you have all been amazing. I’m now getting back to myself and also the new me as these experiences really do change you! Let’s get together to help others beat this  f*uckin BC! There can be a great life beyond the diagnosis….I’m here to show you that xx
