Your gift will make history
Women going through hormone therapy treatment after a diagnosis of breast cancer can feel alone and unsupported. Debilitating side effects can lead them to stopping this life-saving treatment.
You can help change this by supporting myHT guide. A new programme that has never been done before in New Zealand, to support women to stay on hormone therapy treatment and survive.
Pamela's story
Pamela was diagnosed with breast cancer at 50 years of age. After a gruelling treatment regime involving surgery, chemotherapy and radiation she started hormone therapy. This treatment taken over a 5-10 year period can save lives and help women survive longer.
But as Pamela found out the side-effects can be debilitating and it can be challenging to find support in an over-stretched health system. Often leading women to stop treatment.
Luckily Pamela found specialist breast nurse, Katherine who was able to give advice and help her to find a better treatment and mange the side-effects.
Unfortunately, the service run by Katherine is currently only available in Christchurch. Your support will help to roll out an innovative digital health service supported by specialist nurses nationwide.
We call this service my HT guide and with your support it will ensure that no woman has to navigate hormone therapy treatment alone.
