Breast cancer is the number one cause of death in women under 65. Today, nine Kiwi women will receive the terrifying diagnosis of breast cancer. And every year more than 650 Kiwis die of breast cancer. That’s why we need your ongoing support.
Leehane was 35 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She was scared. She didn’t know what the future held for her. She spent months enduring a gruelling treatment regime that involved a mastectomy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy.
After three years, Leehane thought she was in the clear. But she wasn’t.Her cancer was back. And she was devastated.
Sadly, right now, women diagnosed under 40, like Leehane, are more likely to die from breast cancer than older women.
