I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walks for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand. My Breast Cancer Journey: Raising Awareness and Supporting Others

At just 37, I never expected to hear the words, “You have breast cancer.”

One night, I woke up with a sharp pain in my breast and found a lump. I was shocked and overwhelmed when I was diagnosed. I had always considered myself healthy and active, so breast cancer was the last thing I expected.

Going through treatment has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I have also been incredibly grateful for the support and kindness I’ve received from my family, friends, and the breast cancer community

Through this fundraiser, I hope to raise awareness and support people affected by breast cancer. Nobody should have to feel alone going through this.

Please check your breasts regularly and get to know what is normal for you and what isn’t. If you notice a change or something that doesn’t feel right, even if you’re not sure, please don’t ignore it — make an appointment with your GP and get it checked.

Early detection can make a difference. 💗
