George Design is walking for the women we love x

At George Design, we’re a team of fiercely independent women and this is a cause that hits close to home.

My nana had breast cancer, and we lost her 10 years ago. Like so many families, ours knows that breast cancer doesn’t affect one person. It ripples through daughters, granddaughters, sisters, partners, friends, colleagues and entire families.

Every day in New Zealand, nine women are diagnosed with breast cancer. One in 10 Kiwi women will be diagnosed in their lifetime, and around 650 women die from the disease every year.

Those numbers are hard to ignore particularly when you work alongside a team of women every day.

So this year, the George Design team is doing the Pink Ribbon Walk together. We’re walking for my nana. We’re walking for the women we know and love. We’re walking for the women currently facing breast cancer, and for the hope that fewer families will have to lose someone they love to it in the future.
