Sibling Showdown: Walking for Breast Cancer Awareness
When it comes to sibling rivalry, we’ve turned it into something positive! On October 13th, my brother and I (and friends) are putting our competitive spirits to the test in a 5km walk to support breast cancer awareness, and we need your help to make it a success!
The Sibling Rivalry
As siblings, we’ve always had a playful competition between us, whether it’s in sports, games, or who can bake the best cookies. This time, we’re challenging that competitive edge into raising funds and awareness for breast cancer—a cause that’s incredibly important to us.
We’re each setting personal fundraising goals and encouraging friendly competition to see who can raise the most support. It’s not just about walking the distance but about making the biggest impact possible.
Breast cancer affects millions of lives worldwide, and raising awareness and funds is crucial in the fight against this disease. On October 13th, my brother and I are lacing up our walking shoes and walking 5km to support breast cancer awareness, and we invite you to join us in making a difference!
Why We’re Walking
Breast cancer touches the lives of many, either directly or indirectly. Our motivation to walk comes from a place of compassion and a desire to contribute to a cause that matters deeply to us. We believe that every step we take brings us closer to a world where breast cancer is no longer a threat.
How You Can Help
There are several ways you can support our efforts:
- Donate to Our Fundraising Pages: You can contribute to either mine Breast Cancer Foundation NZ - Kristina Wrightson (bcf.org.nz) or my brothers page Breast Cancer Foundation NZ - Mark Wrightson (bcf.org.nz) Your donation will help fund crucial research and support services.
- Join Us: If you’re in the area, we’d love for you to walk with us! It’s a great way to show support and get involved in the community effort.
- Spread the Word: Share our event on social media and with your network. The more people who know about our walk, the greater the impact we can make together.
Why Your Support Matters
Each step we take on October 13th is a step towards a future without breast cancer. By participating, donating, or simply spreading the word, you’re helping to fund critical research, support patients and their families, and raise awareness about early detection and prevention.
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you on the 13th or hear from you soon!
Together, we can make a difference.
