Pink Ribbon Walk 2024 - Auckland

I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Auckland Walk ON my birthday for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

I’ve previously taken part in the Pink Ribbon Walk as part of the volunteer Events team, but this year I’m excited to be spending my birthday taking part in the walk itself along with some of my amazing friends who can’t possibly say no to joining me for the 10 km loop since it’s my birthday wish.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. Together, let's get closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.

My Updates

13 October 2024

THANK YOU!

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the #pinkribbonnz walk for #breastcancerawareness🎀 A meaningful way to celebrate my birthday, walking 10 km with my two amazing friends 💕
I set out with a goal to raise $1,250 for breast cancer research and awareness, and I’m thrilled to share that I surpassed that goal, raising a total of $1614 ($1321 personally, plus an additional $293 via our team). To all those who donated, your generous support truly makes a difference for those facing this tough battle and is so appreciated.
While I (thankfully!) don’t have first hand experience with breast cancer (but sadly have experienced it via several friends and colleagues), I deeply appreciate the unseen struggles and challenges that many face, whether illness or other difficult circumstances.
May this journey be a reminder of the importance of community and the strength we find in each other during hard times. I know I am so grateful for my incredible ‘tribe’ - you have lifted me up when needed most, and your support has been invaluable.
Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity. Together, we’ve played a small part in helping to create a brighter future for everyone affected by breast cancer and beyond 💖
