I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walks for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women in Aotearoa New Zealand, with 1 in 10 women diagnosed in their lifetime and around 650 women losing their lives to the disease every year.

This cause has become incredibly personal to me. My mum has been diagnosed with stage 4 terminal breast cancer, and seeing firsthand the impact this disease has on not only those diagnosed, but also their families and loved ones, has made me want to do something to help.

That’s why I’m taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk this year — for my mum, for every family affected by breast cancer, and to help raise awareness and advocate for a future where fewer families have to go through this.

Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to me and will help fund life-saving education, life-changing patient support, and vital breast cancer research.

Every step and every donation brings us closer to a future where no one has to lose someone they love to breast cancer.
