The Story Behind Joshua's Journey
When I was five years old, I heard that my grandma, Heather, had breast cancer and had lost her hair during chemotherapy. I wanted to support people going through the same predicament, so I started growing my hair. Seven years later, it was long enough to reach all the way down my back. Looking at old photos and seeing how much my hair had grown over time felt weird in a refreshing kind of way. I finally did it, the big cut. My hair is packed up and ready to be sent to the charity. I am collecting donations for breast cancer research. It has taken a long time for me to grow my hair and a lot of courage to finally have it cut. It would be great if you could please donate-even if you can only spare a dollar or two, it makes a huge difference. $2x500 people=$1000 going to Breast Cancer NZ for very important research.

Friday 23rd OctI am really thankful and happy that my haircut is making such a huge impact! Thank you to everyone who has donated and to those who are about to. It means a lot to me.
By the way, if any of you would like to donate your own hair, that would help a lot, too! I cut off all my hair and only got 6 bundles, but according to Freedom Hair, you need nearly 25 bundles to make a full wig.
The week I got my
haircut was Heather’s birthday week, and October is Breast Cancer Awareness
Month. It feels like it was the perfect time for me to take action.
