By fundraising for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, I’m helping fund –
- Ground-breaking projects by some of our countries top researchers
- Education about breast health, the importance of regular screening and the signs and symptoms of breast cancer
- Free support services for breast cancer patients and their families

Friday 17th Aprhiya!!! this lovely lady above is my best friend in the whole wide world (and also my ma!).
my amazing mum has battled with breast cancer not once, but twice. through it all she’s taught me courage, gratitude, and maybe most importantly, resilience. to me, she is like superwoman!!
i want to show my mum the grit and resilience that she’s instilled in me by running in the dunedin marathon and fundraising for the breast cancer foundation!!!
this year, running the marathon will be more than just a physical challenge for me. it will be a way for me to celebrate my mum’s 15 year journey with breast cancer and contribute to a cause that supports others in the same boat.
training for the marathon last year was SO hard, but so rewarding. throughout the entire training block i kept being reminded of my mum’s resilience. my complaints about early mornings, sore legs, and insatiable hunger seemed like nothing compared to anything my mum has ever had to go through. on those 20+ km dusty sundays when all i wanted to do was quit, i kept thinking about if my mum had given up. so i just kept going.
i wouldn’t have been able to run a marathon without the support of my ma, let alone do anything without her. help me contribute to a cause that supported my mum and supports so many other women in the same position. please donate if you can!!
