I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.
Most of you will know of my breast cancer journey over the last couple of years.
It has been such a challenging time for both myself and my young family and has taken all the love, support and help of our friends and family to get us through.
As well as the amazing care of all of my doctors and nurses, the support of the Breast Cancer Foundation has been invaluable. Their advice and support helped me not only understand this disease, my treatment options and how to help myself through side effects and recovery, but also to know that there was someone out there who truly knew what I was going through and I could turn to for good advice. With all the extra financial strain we were under during this time, I would not have been able been able to afford the physio rehab, I so desperately needed after my double mastectomy.
I am hosting this Pink Ribbon Tea to say a little thank you to everyone, far and near, who gave their time, gifts, food and words of love and encouragement during what was the most difficult time in our lives. Also, by raising funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation, I am helping them continue the essential and life-saving work they do for all of us Kiwi women.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.
That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year, to help change that.
