I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year, to help change that.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.

Made it

First time undertaking this event. We made a few boobs but it certainly didn’t go tits up! I’m very grateful to my friends, family and friends of friends for supporting this event and sharing their own cancer experiences.
It was great to meet new women and watch them get to know one another. I’m also grateful for those friends who didn’t make the event, but made a donation anyway. We far exceeded the goal we set and it’s good to know that the donations we did achieve we make a difference for the women who are or have been, diagnosed with breast cancer.
We catered a three course lunch. It was a learning experience! Serving plated meals with a range of options, including those for vegan, vegetarian, dairy and gluten free eaters was challenging. Next time I will streamline the menu and make dishes that don’t require so much fridge space! An ordinary kitchen is not designed for such an event!

Underway.

After planning a menu and sending out invitations I’m holding my breath waiting for participants to register for our La Bra Zerie three course luncheon. We had great fun deciding what to cook for each course, and naming the dishes appropriately for the occasion. We will start with Tipples and Nipples, follow with Tasty Titbits, Big Bazookas and finally Sweet Melons. There are options for each course - all named to fit the theme.
I’ve got some great activities planned and hoping that those who have expressed interest will love their day enough to come back another time.
All going well I should have some great photos to post in just over a weeks time!
