I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year, to help change that.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.

Kiaora Whanau, friends, friends of friends and strangers. 2024 I wanted to do something I hadn’t done before and to volunteer my services towards a Kaupapa that meant something to me. Whilst scrolling through Facebook the Host a Pink Ribbon Party came across my newsfeed. I was curious and didn’t really know what I was getting myself into but dove right on in there and registered. My story is similar to most but different to many. I lost my Mum when I was young. Twenty four years ago she lost her battle to Leukaemia at the young age of 36. Five months short of  her 37th birthday. I still remember her declining the doctors of  wanting to remove her left breast. She was riddled with the big C but in her words she reckons , “ I came into this world with both my breast and I’ll be leaving with them both “ and that she did but suffered for  the remainder of her short wee battle. I think this is such a beautiful  Kaupapa and am so proud to be apart of it and I definitely know my Whanau who have all passed on, especially my Mum would be looking down on me saying “ Good Girl “. I look forward to this journey and dedicate my Pink Ribbon host a party to not just my Mother but anyone who has been affected by this cruel disease.  Weather they have been through it, going through it or knows of someone who lost their battle to it. I ain’t asking for much but any kind donation will be well and truly appreciated 💯 Nga mihi Te Rina Te Miha 🫡
