A year ago I couldn't even walk around the block - now I'm running 21kms to raise vital funds for education, research and patient support
Every year 3,500 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 650 will die.Â
In 2022, I was one of those women - diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at 37 when my second son was 8 weeks old. I am one of the lucky ones who has come out the other side of chemo, surgery and radiation, to beat breast cancer. Â I don't want other women - our sisters, mothers, aunties, and girlfriends - to have to go through what I have.Â
By fundraising for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ through running the Queenstown half marathon in November, I’m helping fund –
- Ground-breaking projects by some of our countries top researchers
- Education about breast health, the importance of regular screening and the signs and symptoms of breast cancer
- Free support services for breast cancer patients and their families
