Kara's Cancer Journey

By Stu Walker

I’m helping raise vital funds for breast cancer education, research and patient support.

Every year 3,500 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer, and more than 650 will die.

By fundraising for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, I’m helping fund –

  1. Ground-breaking projects by some of our countries top researchers
  2. Education about breast health, the importance of regular screening and the signs and symptoms of breast cancer
  3. Free support services for breast cancer patients and their families

Donate today to help make zero deaths from breast cancer a reality.

Taupo Marathon to raise money for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ

Monday 26th May
Kia ora lads and lasses.

I will be running the Taupo Marathon in August and I'm again looking to try to raise funds for Breast Cancer NZ. My former team manager,  Kara, is currently battling stage 4 cancer and is about to undergo her first rounds of Chemo Therapy. She was first diagnosed back in early 2021 and has been fighting ever since. Since her original diagnosis she got married to her long term partner Scott, travelled overseas to Samoa and  became a Grandmother for the first time. Experiences she may not have seen without the advances in cancer treatment. Organizations such as Breast Cancer NZ do some tremendous work in the advancement of treatments for Cancer and any donations to this cause would be very gratefully received and appreciated.
