ASCENT FOR AWARENESS: THE PEAK-TO-PEAK CHALLENGE

By Tess Hurndell

I’m helping raise vital funds for breast cancer education, research and patient support.

The 'peak-to-peak' journey being undertaken holds a unique and poignant symbolism for this cause. For myself and others that will join to put in the immense effort, the physical challenge, and the dedication to reach a place quite literally named 'Breast Hill' and 'Breast Peak', it serves as a deeply personal and undeniable reminder: if I can make this profound effort, surely we can all make the equally vital effort to prioritize our own breast health. My every step on this demanding path is a commitment to the fight against breast cancer, and it's also a heartfelt plea for you to make that crucial check, to be proactive about your own well-being.

This fundraiser is designed to spread breast cancer awareness and raise money for Breast Cancer Society NZ. The mission is a walk from Queenstown Hospital to Breast Hill, a journey of over 130 km, travelling from to Lake Hawea before beginning the track to Breast Hill, then Breast peak. I hope to have others join me on this journey. This concept is unique because it is designed to raise awareness, inspire others, and raise funds for Breast Cancer Society. The walk also symbolizes the struggle people with breast cancer go through, and the determination we need to have in order to find the cure. All funds raised will go to the Breast Cancer Society NZ.
