My name is Louise. I lost my sister to breast cancer, then survived it myself.
Which is why I wanted to send an email to say ‘thank you’.
By hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast next week, you’ll help save the lives of other women like my sister. And you’ll help researchers find new treatments for women diagnosed with breast cancer like I was.
Whether you’re hosting on the ‘official’ Pink Ribbon Breakfast Day on Thursday – or any day in May – you have my deepest thanks. And women all over New Zealand will be grateful to you too.
When I received my diagnosis, I was terrified.
A few years before, I’d seen doctors do everything they could for my sister after she was diagnosed. But despite all the treatments and surgeries, it still took her life.
That’s why I’m so grateful to people like you for hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
Because every dollar you raise will help get us one step closer to a future where there are zero deaths from breast cancer.
That will mean none of us ever have to face the pain of losing someone we love to the disease.
And if women are diagnosed, there’ll be more effective treatments available.
So on Thursday 22 May, please take a moment to think about all the ways you’re changing (and saving) women’s lives by hosting your Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
You truly are doing something incredible.
Amber, as a breast cancer survivor, I’m determined to do everything I can to make sure women have the support they need, and the best chance of survival.
I’m so grateful you’re doing that too, by taking part in Pink Ribbon Breakfast this May.
Thank you – please bake well, host brilliantly and raise heaps. You’re amazing.
