I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast to make sure the vital support the Breast Cancer Foundation provides to patients continues
In 2021, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, in what was one of the scariest conversations I have ever had. While I had great care from my surgeons, oncologists and nurses, the support from the Breast Cancer Foundation was fundamental to my getting through this experience with my sanity intact.
BCF provide a helpline staffed with experienced nurses who can answer those niggly questions that come up between your specialist appointments, as well as providing counseling and physio support.
The work they do is vital, not just in the research space but the day to day support they provide to people like me.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.
Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.
