As I mentioned, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ have helped me, and my family, immensely since my diagnosis. Below is are just a few of the things I'm grateful for that they have helped support. I think they're pretty awesome and want to support them to continue to be awesome. Your donations will help ensure that Breast Cancer Foundation NZ can continue helping people like me.

Thanks for your help in paying it forward!

To Breast Cancer Foundation NZ: THANK YOU!

Thank you BCFNZ for answering my countless questions about treatment, side-effects, and more throughout my active treatment. The BCFNZ nurse help-line is a great resource. I didn't think I needed it at first because my chemo nurse was so awesome, but there's so much to digest as you're going through treatment and so many different doctors, nurses and departments to juggle. The nurses at BCFNZ have heard it all before and knew exactly what I was going through and how to help. Thanks Judith for being so pro-active and checking in on me!

Thank you BCFNZ for funding the 'Step by Step Support Pack' through Breast Cancer Aotearoa Coalition. This journal was just what I needed to help me stay organised and be an active participant in my treatment decisions.

Thank you BCFNZ for improving my mental well-being by teaming up with 'Look Good Feel Better' to offer fantastic classes, both in-person and online. The in-person course made me feel human again, and was the first time since my diagnosis that I felt pampered, spoiled and alive. The online classes were super easy to join, and the chair yoga was a great weekly support group that challenged me just the right amount.

Thank you BCFNZ for improving my physical well-being by teaming up with 'Pinc and Steel' to fund pre and post surgery physio. This was crucial in helping me understand how much I could push myself.

Thank you BCFNZ for supporting me and my family with free counselling sessions. I had no idea what situational depression and anxiety were before my diagnosis, and being able to talk to someone who specialises in this area has been invaluable.

Thank you BCFNZ for advocating for us. The work you do behind the scenes and through the media with politicians, pharmac, etc is so vital!

Thank you BCFNZ for raising awareness. Early detection is key to achieving positive breast cancer outcomes. Your Pink Ribbon breakfast month in May and Pink Ribbon walk in October help spread the word. Your new campervan is fabulous, and again the nurses are invaluable with their depth of knowledge on breast cancer. Even if just 1 extra woman decides to get a mammogram thanks to your work it would be worthwhile, but I suspect the actual number is much higher.

Thank you BCFNZ for helping me share my story. From my first live TV interview, to subsequent radio and TV interviews, to this page, you have made it easier to share my experience. It's scary being on live TV for any reason, but especially when speaking about my own health and treatment delays. Having Adele and Ah-leen by my side during these interviews helped calm my nerves, but also showed me how committed the team at BCFNZ truly are to helping people like me.

That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year; to say Thank YOU Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and to help pay it forward.

Officially, this is my third time hosting a pink ribbon breakfast. The first was a feeble attempt - it was May 2022 and I was browsing the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ site looking for support with my recent breast cancer diagnosis. The first thing I found was the opportunity to register for a 'free host kit' for Pink Ribbon Breakfast. This sounded way more fun than reading about my upcoming chemotherapy, so I signed up. A huge thank you to my close friends who donated to the cause that first year.

Last year I teamed up with my workmates at Northpower to host a morning tea. It was a huge success (we raised over $800) and we're doing it again this year.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.
