I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the ten women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

💕Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 10 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime, and around 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

On 25 July 2025, I became part of this statistic.

It’s been a journey I would never have chosen, and one that, in many ways, doesn’t simply end. There are still layers of recovery, adjustment, and reflection. But through it all, one thing I know for certain is that I would not have made it through the way I have without the support I received.

The Breast Cancer Foundation has been a lifeline. From the darkest days to the better ones, I was regularly supported by my Breast Cancer Foundation nurse — someone who walked alongside me through chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and ongoing medication changes. That consistent care, reassurance, and human connection made an enormous difference for me and my family.

Without organisations like this, the journey would have been so much harder.

That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year — to give back and help ensure that others receive the same support when they need it most.

But I’m doing it with a twist: The Big Pink Swap 💗

It will be a feel-good morning of connection, conversation, and conscious fashion. Guests are invited to bring up to 10 good-quality clothing items on hangers (pieces they love but no longer wear) and swap them for “new-to-you” treasures they’ll enjoy again. Afterward, we’ll donate the value of what we would have spent to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Together, we can help move closer to a future where no one loses their life to breast cancer in Aotearoa. 💕
