I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.

Unfortunately, I was 1 of 9 last year - diagnosed with  Stage 2, Grade 3 breast cancer.  Within the last year I have had a partial mastectomy, 4 months of chemotherapy and 5 rounds of radiation.  Although I still have 5 years of precautionary treatment to go, I am feeling well and on the road to a full recovery.

That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year. The NZ Breast Cancer Foundation immediately made contact with me, offering so much support, so this is my way of giving back.

Please donate to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research. And bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.

I have just finished hosting a Pink Ribbon Morning Tea at work.  Thank you to all the teachers, staff and students at Mahurangi College who came along and made a donation.  And a big thanks to all my family and friends who have donated over the last couple of weeks. 
Between us, we have raised just over $3000... twice the amount of my original target.  All funds go to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
