This year I’m taking part in the Pink Ribbon Breakfast and fundraising for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of my beautiful mum, Liz McNabb, who passed away on 16 April 2026 after a challenging 12-month battle with breast cancer.
Watching someone you love go through cancer is heartbreaking. Over the past year, our family experienced the fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, and sadness that so many families facing breast cancer know all too well. Through it all, Mum showed incredible love for her family and held tightly to the people who meant the most to her.
Breast cancer changes lives in ways that are impossible to fully explain until you’ve lived it. It affects not only the person diagnosed, but every person who loves them. That’s why the work of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is so incredibly valuable and important. Their commitment to research, education, advocacy, support services, and early detection helps bring hope to thousands of New Zealanders and their families every year.
I’m fundraising in Mum’s honour, and in support of all those currently facing breast cancer, those who have survived it, and the families who have lost someone they love to this disease.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much to me and my family. Thank you for helping support the life-changing work of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, and for helping keep Mum’s memory alive through something positive and meaningful.
