I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the nine women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.
Breast Cancer has touched many of our lives in some way. As teachers working in a predominantly female profession, the chances are high we know someone - a colleague, friend, whanau at school or in the community or a family member - who has been affected. This is what inspired me to host a Pink Ribbon lunch for the staff at Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau, alongside my own connections.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.
Every donation helps to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research.
Together, we can make a real difference.
