14 months ago, I found a lump and just like that, life as we knew it changed.
From surgery to chemo, hospital stays, and radiation, it’s been a journey I wouldn’t wish on anyone. The physical and emotional toll was huge — pain, fatigue, anxiety, and the unknown. But I got through it.
Ringing that bell at the end of treatment was a moment I’ll never forget — a reminder of the fight, the strength, and the incredible support around me. My whānau, friends, and medical team carried me through it all.
Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and Cancer Society were there too. Both have been amazing support system throughout my treatments and recovery, and that’s why this cause means so much to me.
I’m still here and that’s everything.
If sharing my story or supporting this cause helps even one person to feel less alone, get checked earlier, or get the support they need — it’s worth it.
If you’re in a position to donate, I’d be incredibly grateful. And if not, please just remember to check yourself and look after your people.
For anyone going through it right now — I see you, I hear you, I feel you. Kia kaha 💪🏽
Much aroha,
