I’ve also had close friends go through their own journeys with breast cancer. I am blessed to still have them in my life.
I'm hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast for the ten women diagnosed with breast cancer each day in New Zealand.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 10 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. And 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year.
That’s why I’m hosting a Pink Ribbon Breakfast this year, to help change that.

My “why” for hosting a Pink Ribbon event
Almost 20 years ago my beautiful Mum found a lump in her breast. She has always been proactive, and went to see a doctor straight away. I remember her phone call to me letting me know she had breast cancer and would have a lumpectomy followed by radiation. I was hit with the enormity of the situation, and the very real fear that I could lose her. Luckily my Mum came through the treatment well, and has been cancer free ever since, and she just celebrated her 86th birthday!
