Becoming a māmā to my beautiful boy last year has found me more familiar with my own breasts than ever before. The changes that occur during pregnancy and postpartum have made me far more aware of my wonderful body and all it does.
I am currently still proudly exclusively breastfeeding and if you’ve seen me over the last 6 months there’s a good chance you’ve also seen my boobs! Whipping out my nips multiple times every day has made me think even more about breast cancer, and how lucky I am to have a healthy functioning body, and how devastating it is for women who don’t.
Unfortunately and heartbreakingly, breast cancer is so prevalent, impacting and taking the lives of many wāhine every year.
