What a phenomenal effort from everyone over the last month! We wanted to share a quick wrap-up of what we achieved together and celebrate the final results of our Breast Mates campaign.
The Porirua District Court team has wrapped up an awesome "Breast Mates" fundraising month, raising a massive $4018.00 for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ! We kicked things off with our two-week walkathon on the streets of Porirua. We initially aimed for a 650km target, but everyone got stuck in and we absolutely smashed it, walking a huge 1,900+ kilometres together.
The buzz kept going off the pavements and into the kitchen for the Breast Mates Bake-4-A-Cure. Our court crew channelled their inner star bakers and whipped up some incredible treats for the Ultimate Pink Ribbon Auction on Wednesday the 20th of May. Everyone bid generously, turning simple cakes, puddings, and pies into vital funds to support the 10 Kiwis diagnosed with breast cancer every single day.
To celebrate the massive effort, we wrapped up the month last Friday with a well-deserved wine and cheese in "after fives". It was the perfect way to toast our awesome teamwork and community spirit. Every single kilometre walked, treat baked, and dollar raised has gone to a life-changing cause, powering the ultimate vision of reaching zero deaths from breast cancer.
